Governor Kefas Agbu has urge Tarabans to exercise caution during the Christmas and New Year festivities.
The Governor stated this in his Broadcast to the people off the state.
“Fellow Tarabans, as we prepare to celebrate Christmas this year, I want to extend my warmest wishes to the resilient people of Taraba State.
“Christmas is a time for reflection, gratitude, renewed hope, and moving forward together.
“However, amidst our celebrations, let us not forget the challenges we face as a community. This season marked by festive celebrations brings us together in the spirit of unity and joy.
“However, I must express the cautionary note as we navigate this joyous time. While I understand the tradition of paying homage during this season, I urge caution in our movements.
According to him, the current circumstances call for prudence, and must be mindful of the importance of minimizing unnecessary travel to safeguard our lives and our communities’ well-being.
He appreciate the sentiment behind the desire to come together, but the safety of our people remains paramount.
“Let us find alternative ways to express our unity and celebrate the season while ensuring the health and security of all.
He reassure Tarabans that the dedicated security agencies, including Road Safety, have put measures in place to ensure safe travels.
“However, I urge each one of you to exercise caution and follow the guidelines that may be provided by the security agencies.
“To those who choose a part of criminality, this festive season is a time for reflection and renewal. The time when the spirit of unity and compassion should resonate in every heart.
The Governor extend esteemed message to those who engage in criminal activities in the state.
“Your actions not only threaten the safety and well-being of our communities but also undermine the collective efforts to build a prosperous and harmonious society.
“I implore you to reconsider your choices, for they are not only leading to personal consequences but also disrupt the peace that we all strive to maintain.
“As we celebrate, let this be a moment of introspection. Choose a path of change and contribute positively to our community. The resolve of our security agencies is unwavering and the law will be upheld to ensure the safety of law-abiding citizens.
“Let the spirit of this season inspire a change of heart. Taraba State deserves a future free from the shadows of criminality.
He call on Tarabans to embrace the opportunity for redemption and choose a part that leads to the betterment of our society.
“Fellow Tarabans, despite the challenges we face, let us approach this season with hope.
“With collective effort and resilience, I believe that in the near future, we will overcome these security challenges and build a safer and more secure Taraba State.
“May this Christmas serve as a beacon of hope, resilience, and unity for all regardless of tribe, region, or religion.
“Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year – he concluded.
