The extra ordinary Congress of League of women voters, FCT chapter held in the National office at sunshine home, lokogoma district abuja on Saturday the 29th of June, foster towards the reawakening of the FCT Chapter of NILOWV.

The meeting was Chaired by the National Chairperson of the NILOWV Hon.Irene Awunal-Ikyesh who welcomed all members to the Extra Ordinary Congress meeting, there after intimated the women on the vision, mission and the objectives of the organizations.
She also elaborated on the importance of being a member of the NILOWV, in addition itemized the role of every qualify member towards achieving the goal of the organization.

The immediate past Fct Chairperson, Chief Mrs Marie Enegwea also welcomed both the new and old members of the organization, furthermore stated that she believes in continuity, she said she would expect that the incoming executives should leverage on the already established relationships in the FCT and utilise the opportunity to make
Positive impact for the FCT chapter.
The National Chairperson Hon. Irene in addition, Informed the house of the importance of registration, what it entails to be a registered member, the necessary dues expected to be paid.

Explaining that the eligibility of the Membership is only for women of voteable age18 years and above, and must be a Voter. Secondly, registration of N5000 yearly dues are expected to be paid per member, N2000 for ID Card, N500 Naira for purchase of form makes a member an active member.

The extral ordinary Congress also afford active members to nominate candidates for the various elective positions to run the affairs of the FCT chapter of the NILOWV.

After several deliberations, dissolution of the old Exco of the FCT Chapter, a motion was moved by Lucy Nwajideobi for new members to be nominated and elected, seconded by Rachel Ayeni. Elections commenced with a four women electoral body, the following members emerged as the new exco of the fct Chapter of NILOWV:

- Ogbonna Nnenna Sandra- Vice Chairperson
- Ogonnnaya Chima- Secretary
- Rachel Ayanwu- Asst. Secretary
- Rachel Ayeni-Publicity Secretary
- Ene Audu- Programs Manager
- Lucy Nwajideobi- Organising Secretary
- Princess Mimi Peters- Youth Chairperson
- Chizoba Ogbeche- Ex Officio
The swearing in of the newly elected Excos was conducted after a successful election by Barr. Member Aduguve.

The Congress meeting came to a close after an acceptance speech was done by the newly elected Chairperson: Mrs Cesnabmihilo Dorothy, who assured the FCT members of delivering on the mandate bestowed on her and her team.
