chieftain of the All Progressive Congress APC in Taraba State Chief Dr, David Sabo Kente has been call to contest for the number one seat of the state due to his strong political influence, grassroots support, and consistent loyalty to the APC since joining in 2016. His philanthropy through the DSK Foundation has earned him widespread admiration across ethno-religious lines, enhancing his appeal.
Kente’s role in securing APC victories, including supporting the election of a senator and a House member in 2023, demonstrates his electoral strength.
His ability to unite diverse groups, coupled with his advocacy for development and perceived “federal might,” position him as a federal might.
Chief (Dr) David Sabo Kente landed at the Danbaba Suntai Airport Jalingo on 17th April to receive Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) award as ” Philanthropist Man of the Year”.
The reception that occasioned his arrival left no one in doubt that Tarabans now desperately yearn for him to come and steer the affairs of the State as the placards they displayed glaringly refer to him as their next governor.
The assorted placards with different inscriptions ” DSK come and rescue Taraba State “, “2027, DSK is our choice ” “Tarabans yearn for DSK 2027″ and several others, appears to be the resolution of the majority of the people of the state from the Central, Northern and Southern parts of the state who converged at the Airport.
Tens of thousands of indigenes of Taraba have benefited either directly or indirectly from the generousity of Chief Kente, who recently bagged the NUJ Philanthropist Man of the year award.
Through the DSK Foundation, Kente has been able to reach out to people in various spheres of life including health, education, skills acquisition and empowerment, rehabilitation and settlement, bridges and culvets among several others.
The sheer magnitude of his philanthropism and it’s outreach has now made him highly endeared to the people and as successive governments continue to perform abysmally, the calls for him to take over the reigns of power in the State come 2027 are intensifying daily.
During the celebration of his 60th birthday in his hometown Wukari, the administrative headquarters of Kwararafa kingdom, he visited some notable institutions as part of activities line up towards the grand reception.
Among places of interest visited by the celebrant includes, Mecaparson primary School, the Wukari correctional centre, Ifayima Orphanage, Wukari teaching hospital and CRCN health center.
He moved to the Wukari teaching hospital where he encouraged them to put their trust in God as they passed through their various health conditions.
He later provided them with financial support to help them cushion their sufferings.
The message was the same at the Christian Reformed Church, Nigeria CRCN health center as the patients were also given a token.
As always been the case with Chief David Sabo Kente every year during his birthday celebration.
While at the correctional centre, Chief David Sabo Kente settled the fines of fifteen inmates who could not afford the fines, which eventually led to their release.
In addition to that Chief David Sabo Kente also released over one million naira for the transportation of the inmates that breezed the air of freedom to their various destinations.
Speaking shortly in an interview, the celebrant, Chief David Sabo Kente said his birthday is always a unique occasion because it offers him the opportunity take stock and reflect on his life as well as to do more for humanity.
According to him, his people are his top priority and he will always identify with them in whatever situation they may have find themselves as he is ever ready at anytime to initiate and come up with programmes that are beneficial to them.
Chief David Sabo Kente’s birthday remains one birthday the people of Wukari local government area especially those in incarceration are all looking forward to because of his compassionate heart and kindness towards them.
