Amasiri has another reason to celebrate, and this time, the crown belongs to one of our own, our daughter another Esther!
Ikpor Esther Amarachi, from Ezi-Okorouche, Ndukwe, Amasiri, has emerged as FACE OF IGBO 2026 in Gwagwalada Area Council, Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, following a keenly contested competition among contestants representing different Igbo states.
The competition, held on October 28, 2026, brought together young Igbo women from across the South-East and beyond. Among the contestants, Esther distinguished herself and won the crown, proudly representing Amasiri and Ebonyi State.
On Friday, October 30, during the Igbo Day celebration, she was further honoured by the Igbo community and the Ebonyi State community in Gwagwalada for this remarkable achievement.
Esther is a 300-level Sociology student at the University of Abuja. She is the proud daughter of the late Chief Ikpor Nwokpo Maxwell KSM and Lady Ikpor Eucharia Nneka (née Nwachi) LSM, ACN, an accountant with the National Orientation Agency, Headquarters, Abuja.
This achievement is a source of immense pride to her family, Ndukwe, Amasiri, Ebonyi State and the entire Igbo nation. It is always a beautiful thing to see young people step forward, distinguish themselves and represent their communities with grace and confidence.
As a daughter of Amasiri, Esther has carried the name of her community beyond its borders and brought home an honour worthy of celebration. Her success also reminds us of the promise and potential of our young people when they are given the opportunity to shine.
