The Public Relations and Information Division of the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) has bid farewell to Mrs. Anike Francesca Ebele, who retire from active service after 35 years of dedicated service to the Authority.
The farewell ceremony, held on the second floor of the FCDA Public Relations Division, brought together colleagues and staff members who celebrated the retiree for her years of commitment, professionalism and contributions to the organisation.
In her opening remarks, the Head of the Division, Madam Fatima-Teena Swomen, described the occasion as a celebration of one of their own, stressing the importance of standing together as a family in both good and challenging times.
“As a family, we celebrate our own. When it is time to celebrate, we celebrate; when it is time to mourn, we stand together,” she said.
She added that the essence of the gathering was not based on abundance, but on the value of celebrating one another.
“We are here not because we have it, and we must not have it in abundance before we celebrate one another,” she added.
Swomen described Mrs. Anike as a sister, friend and colleague, noting that she was often a calming influence whenever the atmosphere became tense.
She commended the retiree for her cordial working relationship with colleagues and for willingly sharing her knowledge and experience with others throughout her years of service.
Mrs. Anike began her career with the FCDA in 1991 as a Secretary in the Commerce and Industry under the Department of Finance and Administration.
In 2007, she was posted to the Resettlement and Compensation Department, where she worked with Mrs. Helen H. Obiechina.
In 2014, she was posted to work under the Director of Finance and Administration, Alhaji Ado Uba Yakasai. She was later posted to the Administration Training Department in 2019.
In 2022, Mrs. Anike was posted to the Public Relations Division, where she continued her service until her retirement on July 11, 2026.
Colleagues and staff members at the farewell ceremony wished her well as she begins a new phase of her life, describing retirement as a significant milestone that many workers look forward to after years of dedicated service.
The staff expressed appreciation for her contributions to the FCDA and prayed for a fulfilling, peaceful and rewarding retirement.
