Bayelsa State is now ripe and ready to welcome new investments with the current state of critical infrastructure and enabling environment provided to enable businesses thrive.
The Director-General, Bayelsa Government New Media, Dr. Kolawole Oredipe, who gave this indication said with Bayelsa ranked as the safest state in Nigeria coupled with the massive road infrastructure across the state and the changing times of steady power supply from the state-owned Gas Turbines, investments are now safe in the state.

Dr. Oredipe, was speaking as a panelist at the 2026 Bayelsa Nigerian Institute of Public Relations Week and Annual General Meeting themed:
“Public Relations as a Catalyst for Economic Development and Government-Cooperate Citizen Relation in Bayelsa State: Issues and Gaps”, held at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Yenagoa.
The New Media DG, who said Governor Douye Diri, has remained committed to providing those critical infrastructure to support industrialisation, stated clearly that Bayelsa is blessed with different natural resources waiting to be tapped.

“This is a deliberate effort. Public Relations is at play here now. All the ingredients you look for in a place to economic boost are now here in Bayelsa State. No investor will use that as an excuse anymore. Is it power? There is light now. On security, here is a senior police officer who has confirmed Bayelsa as perhaps the most secure state in Nigeria today. Then, roads, other infrastructure connecting several places”, Oredipe said.

He continued: “Just like my brother, Teddy Bai said, the people themselves must show that they are ready to welcome investors. They must be hospitable and not constitute roadblocks. We must begin to speak about those good things in the land. The people will ultimately be the beneficiaries with jobs creation and a boost to the local economy. Bayelsa is so blessed and now that Governor Diri, has provided that enabling environment, what are the investors waiting for? Bayelsa is good to go.”
Dr. Oredipe, further said that as part of the public relations and media strategy to showcase the positive development in the state, the Government New Media team will soon launch a campaign tagged, “Bayelsa Ebidou”meaning “Bayelsa Is Good.”

This project is a true reflection of the achievements of the Governor Douye Diri-led administration across infrastructure, health, education, power, human capital development and security.
“The truth is that Bayelsa has moved many steps forward. Indeed, so much transformation has happened over the past years and Governor Diri, took development to another level touching several sectors. As a people, we are the ones to promote the state and not demarket it if we are waiting for the investments. So, the Bayelsa Ebidou campaign, is a tool for all Bayelsans to speak well of the state.

Let the outside world know that the state is most secured. Let them know we can now drive to Ekeremor, Oporoma and soon to Brass Island. On social media, we must not de-market the state as a matter of patriotism. Let’s put politics aside. Truly, Bayelsa has become good”, Oredipe stated.
