Alhaji Ibrahim Salisu Buhari, a former Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, along with his brother and sister, has been conferred with the traditional title of Iyan Daura by the Emir of Daura, Alhaji Faruq Umar Faruq.
The ceremony, held at the Emir’s palace in Daura, Katsina State, recognized Buhari’s contributions to the Daura Emirate. In addition to him, Dr. Garzali Salisu Buhari was honored with the title of Makaman Kasar Hausa, while Dr. Samira Salisu Buhari was bestowed with the title of Daurama Karama.

The Emir presented the honorees with their Staffs of Office, symbolizing their roles within the emirate’s traditional hierarchy.
In his remarks, the Emir emphasized the Buhari family’s longstanding relationship with the Daura community.
Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, who attended the event, urged the newly-titled individuals to use their positions to contribute to the development of Daura.
The ceremony attracted attendees from across the country, including Deputy Senate President Senator Barau Jibrin, Majority Leader Hon. Ado Doguwa, and former Deputy Governor of Kano State, Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna.
Other prominent attendees included Senator Datti Baba Ahmed, Hon. Abdulmumin Jibrin Kofa, and former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Patricia Etteh.
