In recognition of distinguished Nigerians who have made significant contributions to the Nation’s progress in their various career, “Nigeria Merit Awards 2024” (publisher of ‘Our Nigeria Awards Magazine) a prestigious Topnotch and Trailblazer initiative has identified the Director, Education Resource Centre of the FCT Administration Education Secretariat, Dr. Neemat Daud Abdulrahim for her outstanding commitment and dedication to educational excellence in Public Service.
Speaking at the colourful event, the representative of the Nigeria Vice President, Dr Aliyu Moddibo, Special Adviser on General Duties said, the organizers of the Nigeria Merit Awards 2024 are pacesetters to renew the hope of Nigerians because Nigeria is a Nation of boundless possibilities with individuals charting a path towards a Prosperous future for all.

Also speaking , the chairman of the occasion, Alhaji Umar Abdulmuttalab said, the various recipients have been thoroughly selected through a meticulous and transparent process, ensuring that only the most deserving individuals, who have made remarkable contributions to Nigeria’s growth and development, are honored.
He congratulated them and urged them not to rest on their oars as reward for hard work is more work adding that Nigeria is a country of great talents and skilled individuals who are contributing immensely to its growth, development and global recognition.
In his keynote address, Professor Prof Don Mcwarra speaking on the theme “Nigeria Rising” said
“No one should lose interest in Nigeria because Nigeria and Nigerians have the potential for greatness, and together, we can make Nigeria great again.”
He called on the recipients and everyone to continue to contribute their quota in ensuring Nigeria’s wealth is safeguarded, not wasted, and that the nation rises to a level of national and global recognition and influence.

Calling her for the Presentation of the General Abdulsalami Abubakar Excellence Award in Public Service to Dr. Neemat Daud Abdulrahim ,the Chairman of the Editorial Board and Chairman Planning Committee ,Dr AK Peters said her remarkable achievements in Public Service highlights her commitment to governance, women’s empowerment and social justice.
He described her exemplary leadership and tireless efforts have positively impacted numerous lives, especially in the Area of Education.
He added that through her line of duty,she has demonstrated an unwavering dedication to improving the lives of the underprivileged and ensuring equal opportunities for all particularly women and children .
According to him,this prestigious General Abdulsalami Abubakar Excellence Award in Public Service is a testament to her profound contributions to societal development and her relentless pursuit of excellence in education and Public Service in general.
Responding and receiving the award, Dr. Neemat Daud Abdulrahim expressed her delight and appreciation, first to God, for enabling her to be recognized among the crème de la crème of society. She also thanked the organizers, Our Nigeria News, for their keen sense of recognition in identifying her humble yet impactful contributions in the discharge of her public service duties and as an individual.
She advised individuals to remain diligent, committed, and passionate in their pursuits, emphasizing that dedication and integrity are key to making a meaningful impact in society. Dedicating the prestigious Award to all educators and librarians and change makers who believe in the power of knowledge to transform lives.
She promised to remain committed to fostering an education system and empowers the next generation of leaders.
Dr. Abdulrahim, as a distinguished librarian and education administrator, has dedicated over three decades to shaping the educational landscape in Nigeria and beyond. A pioneer in library services, public-private partnerships in education, and youth empowerment, she has spearheaded numerous initiatives, including the establishment of modern libraries, digital learning platforms, and literacy programs for underserved communities.
Her impact extends beyond Nigeria, with international recognition for her role in bridging the gap between literacy and digital inclusion. Under her leadership, the FCT Education Resource Centre has witnessed remarkable transformations, securing its place as a hub for knowledge and innovation.
Dr. Abdulrahim’s recognition with the “Our Nigeria Award 2024” is a testament to her passion for education, ethical leadership, and relentless pursuit of excellence. She was a recipient of the Royal Meritorious Service Award, Icon of Integrity Award, and Ambassador for World Peace (AMBP-UN).
The ‘Our Nigeria Award 2024 ‘ which is an Annual celebration of individuals making remarkable strides in their respective fields and have continued to serve as a source of hope and inspiration despite the challenges had in attendance recipients which includes Governor of Jigawa State, Malam Umar Namadi , Lt. Gen. Lamidi Adeosun, (Rtd) Brig.Gen. Michael Mukokomani, Botswana ( Rtd)Dr. Rabiu Musa kwankwaso, former Governor of Kano State,Senator Abdul- Azeez Yaradua, Senate Committee Chairman on Nigeria Army, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai,former chief of Army Staff and Royal fathers from Ogoni kingdom and Emir of Nguru among other distinguished guests.
The awards presentation took place at the Abuja Continental (former Sheraton) Hotel Wuse, Abuja on Thursday, 30th January 2025.
