Sermon Title:DECIDE TO LIVE INTENTIONALLY
Scripture:Daniel 1:8, Genesis 39: 7- 10, Job 31:1
Our theme for 2023 is “Intentional Living, Making Measurable Progress.” To live intentionally is to live deliberately, leaving nothing to chance and doing everything on purpose, it is a planned living. You have to dress and do everything deliberately because you are passing a message.
Do things as someone who knows who he is and whose mission he is on. Have no casual day, live circumspectly and precisely. When you live intentionally, you expect a positive outcome. Every decision has an outcome.
BIBLE EXAMPLES OF INTENTIONAL LIVING
Daniel: He knew what would happen if he ate the meat that the king set before him but he purposed in his heart not to eat because he had a God he didn’t want to displease. Even in a secret place, Daniel would not displease God.
Joseph: He lived intentionally in the fear of God. He knew he could get away with sinning but he purposed in his heart not to sin. Intentional Living must be about God. Even though he was in captivity, God was in his heart. You have to have the consciousness that God is always with you.
Job: He also had the fear of God, he made up his mind not to look at women lustfully. He was in a position to get any kind of woman he wanted. Victory begins from the place of decision. Decide ahead to be intentional.
Jesus is also an example of intentional living, Satan tempted him with a juicy option but he was intentional and would not bow to him.
How much are you worth? What can make you sin and throw away your Christianity? Jesus overcame because He stayed focused on fulfilling His purpose which was to die on the cross, no one could dissuade him.
Because they honored God, God honored them. He gave Jesus the name above every other name. Joseph became second man in command, Daniel became relevant in government and Job became hundred times greater than he was. If you lift God up, He will lift you up.
This year make up your mind to intentionally please God and honor Him. If you live intentionally, you will become the beacon of light, someone who help other people.
