2027 Elections : APC Dismisses Opposition, Predicts Landslide Victory in Ebonyi

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ebonyi State has declared that it is on course to retain its dominance in the state by winning all elective positions in the 2027 general elections.

The State Chairman of the party, Stanley Okoro Emegha, made the assertion on Monday while addressing journalists in Abakaliki, insisting that the opposition lacked the strength and credibility to pose any serious challenge to the ruling party.

Emegha described the APC as a united and formidable political platform, stressing that the party has already produced credible candidates capable of securing victory at all levels of the forthcoming elections.

According to him, many politicians currently seeking elective offices under opposition parties had previously contested elections on the APC platform and failed, making their chances of success in 2027 even slimmer.

“APC will win the 2027 general election in Ebonyi State comfortably. Those making noise in other political parties were once given opportunities to contest under APC but could not succeed.

“If they could not win while contesting on the platform of the ruling party, it is difficult to see how they can achieve victory from the opposition. Most of them are not serious contenders,” he said.

The APC chairman also dismissed reports suggesting that some candidates who emerged from the party’s primary elections had been dropped or replaced.

He maintained that the candidates produced through the party’s primary process remain valid and have already been forwarded to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in line with the party’s procedures.

Emegha explained that the selection process involved extensive consultations among party leaders and stakeholders, culminating in a final meeting where consensus was reached on the candidates to represent the party in the general election.

He noted that the primaries were conducted by committees appointed by the party’s national leadership and that the results were publicly announced.

“The responsibility of submitting candidates to INEC rests with the party, and that process has been completed.

“The stakeholders of the party met and agreed on the candidates to fly the APC flag. The governor, as leader of the party in the state, also met with stakeholders, and the decisions reached at that meeting remain binding.

“The primary election results were declared publicly by the committee sent by the national secretariat, and nothing has changed since then,” Emegha stated.

He urged party members and supporters to ignore what he described as misinformation being circulated by political opponents, expressing confidence that the APC would record another sweeping victory in Ebonyi State in 2027.
