The legal profession gained a new voice for justice today as 23 year-old Barrister Ekene Nwankwo, Esq. was officially called to the Nigerian Bar.
Radiating joy at the ceremony, Nwankwo, Esq. pledged to dedicate his legal career to defending the vulnerable.
“I will stand for justice for the oppressed,” he declared.

Speaking to journalists, in Abuja the young lawyer revealed that he has already commenced his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Abuja, after graduating with a Second Class Upper (2:1) degree in Law from the University of Calabar. He attended his orientation camp in Port Harcourt.
Expressing gratitude, Nwankwo, Esq. thanked his parents for their unwavering support throughout his educational journey.
“From primary school to secondary school, university and the Nigerian Law School, my parents trained, encouraged, and stood by me,” he said.
His mother, Barrister Mrs. Nwankwo, who was overjoyed to witness her son’s achievement, advised parents not to dictate careers for their children.
“When parents insist on doctor, engineer or other courses against a child’s passion, the child may struggle. But when allowed to choose, they will excel,” she said.
Equally proud, his father, Mr. Nwankwo, thanked God for his son’s success and urged parents to always support their children’s chosen paths in life.
With strong family support, sound academic grounding, and youthful zeal, Barrister Ekene Nwankwo, Esq. steps into the legal profession with a clear mission: to uphold justice and be a voice for the oppressed.
