A foremost Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), Anti-Kidnapping, Human Trafficking, Child Abuse and Drug Abuse Initiative (AKH-TRACADA) has commiserated with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Nigerian Air Force over the crash of a Nigerian Air Force ATR-42 aircraft near a naval base in Igbokoda, Ondo State.
In a statement released in Abuja Tuesday, signed by AKH-TRACADA’s Founder/National Coordinator, Primate Belonwu Ezeanyaeche, it expressed condolences to the families of the 25 passengers and seven crew members who reportedly died in the crash.
Ezeanyaeche also sympathized with the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, as well as officers, airmen and airwomen of the Nigerian Air Force.
According to the statement, “I, on behalf of AKH-TRACADA extend my deepest condolences to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, colleagues, and loved ones, following the tragic loss of personnel of the Nigerian Air Force in the ATR-42 aircraft crash.
“This is a deeply painful moment for their families, the Nigerian Air Force, and the entire nation. The loss of dedicated men and women who served our country is a profound tragedy, and our thoughts are with all those grieving this devastating incident.
“I recognize the courage, commitment, and sacrifices of the fallen personnel in service to their fatherland. Their dedication to duty and country will not be forgotten.
“At this difficult time, I urge Nigerians to keep the bereaved families and the Nigerian Air Force in their prayers and to extend every possible support and compassion to those affected by this tragedy.
“May Almighty God grant the departed eternal rest, give strength and comfort to their families, loved ones, Nigerian Air Force and give them the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved families and all those affected” the statement concluded.
