Anyanwu’s Guber Bid : Mbaise Nation Adopts Power Shift to PDP

The Governorship bid of the Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu has continued to receive wide acceptance following his unanimous adoption by Mbaise nation as consensus Candidate during the LGA ‘Thank You Tour’ in the area.

At the Palace of the Traditional Ruler of Okpofe autonomous community, Ezinihite Mbaise LGA, HRH Eze Surv. Reginald J.C Aguwamba (Ezeoha II of Okpofe), Senator Anyanwu said that his intention to contest the Governorship election was to salvage the state, restore security, boost the economy and create employment for the teeming youths.

He maintained that Imo state would experience a change of administration in November 11 Governorship election, and charged Mbaise people to remain resolute and steadfast in their bid to witness an end to kidnapping and killings in the state.

“Today, no Imo person is proud to say that he is from Imo, this is because of the bad image this incessant killings in our state has brought. Few days ago, a prominent Traditional Ruler in Aboh Mbaise LGA was gruesomely murdered, a day after, news had it that another three persons were shot dead in Owerri West. This is to say that we are no longer safe in our land. This is not what Imo people bargained for. For this reason, there is need for all hands to be on deck to restore normalcy by sacking this cruel and vicious administration in our state in order to gaurantee freedom, security of lives and property” He stated.

According to him, the excrutiating pains Imo people are passing through at present is an indication that the current administration in the state has woefully failed and as such, has exhausted all its chances to be reasonable in the discharge of its duties.

He regretted that as a result of the debilitating hunger and insecurity in the state, Traditional Rulers and individuals not supporting the government in place are targeted for either humiliation or harassment and possibly, for execution without any justifiable reason.

The PDP standard bearer therefore assured that his government would also focus more on programms aimed at addressing bad roads in Mbaise nation and its environs, expressing bitterness how the present administration abandoned virtually every project in the area, simply because the people of Mbaise nation are known PDP compliant.

While urging them to come out en-masse to vote for PDP in the November 11 Governorship election, , Anyanwu therefore assured them that no amount of amould tank, intimidation or thuggery would stop the massive defeat of APC in the poll.
