Security agencies have been directed to arrest and prosecute the former chairman of the All Progressive Congress APC, Barrister Tukur El-Sudi.
The state Acting Chairman of the party, Hon. James Amadu gave the directive while addressing Journalists in response to the purported expulsion of one of the Chieftains of the party, Chief David Sabo Kente and our Senator-Elect for the Southern Senatorial District in the just concluded general elections, Hon. David Jimkuta by the former State Chairman, Barr. Ibrahim Tukur El-Sudl from the party.
“I, and members of my EXCO as well as members of APC in Taraba state did not receive the pronouncement by the former Chairman, Barr. Ibrahim Tukur El-Sudi at a press briefing in Jalingo, with rude shock but with
utmost disappointment In the person of Elsudi who has consistently shown a rather shallow understanding of the workings of the party.
According to him, on February 10, 2023, Barr. Ibrahim Tukur Elsudi was legally removed from office by state working committee of the party through a vote of no confidence and this was communicated to and acknowledged by the Party’s National Working Committee.
“He thus stands removed as the Chairman of the party and has no legal standing to act in that capacity.
“After the legal removal of Barr Ibrahim Tukur Elsudi from office, my humble self, Honorable James Amadu, former deputy State Chairman of the party and highest ranking official was unanimously and legally endorsed as the State Acting Chairman of the party. By the provision of the APC constitution, Barn Elsudi ceased to function as Chairman since February 10th and has no legal right to suspend or expel any member from the party.
“If we may ask, where does Elsudi, who lost elections in his own polling unit and home town, derive the powers to expell Kente and Jimkuta who are proven loyal and hardworking members of the party and who present a brilliant outing at the last elections, defeating an incumbent Governor in a senatorial race and winning the highest votes for APC both at the state and National levels?
The Acting Chairman pointed out that it is on record that Chief David Sabo Kente and the Senator elect Honorable David Jimkuta used their resources to organize a mega rally for the Presidential Campaign of Bola Ahmed Tinubu shortly before the election, which is the only APC mega rally for Tinubu/Shettima presidential campaign in Taraba State. This was responsible for the votes that were massively garnered from the Southern Taraba during the last state and National elections.
“As the leadership of the party in Taraba State, we are hereby calling on the
security operatives in the state to urgently effect the arrest of Barrister Elsudi for impersonation.
“We also call on the national leadership of the party to expediently call Elsudi to order before he creates irreparable confusion in the party.
“For the avoidance of doubt and to set the records straight, Chief David Sabo Kente remains a member of the APC in Taraba. Equally, Our senator elect Honorable David Jimkuta remains a legitimate member of our great party in Taraba State and the leader of the party in waiting, in line with the provisions of the constitution of the party.
He urge the National leadership of the APC should note that Elsudi is a proven disaster to the APC in Taraba State and should not allow him to mislead
them on issues concerning the party in the state as he is obviously only working to serve his personal interests.
Speaking, the Chairman of All Progressive Congress APC in Bete Ward, Simon Yamusa denied writing any petition against David Jimkuta adding that the Member elect has never work against the party.
Also speaking, the Chairman of All Progressive Congress APC in Kente Ward, Uten Efu said that he and his EXCO, have never written any letter suspending Chief David Sabo Kente from the party.
Recall that Barrister Tukur El-Sudi in a press release announce the expulsion of highly respected members of the party. He said;
“You will recall that sometimes in July 2022 the Executives of APC Kente Ward of Wukari Local Government Area wrote the Chairman of APC Wukari LGA calling for the expulsion of Chief David Sabo Kente on series of allegations and offences against the party as enshrined in the party constitution 2022 as amended. You will equally recall that the APC Wukari LGA severally invited Chief David Sabo Kente to defend himself on the allegations leveled against him by the APC of his Ward but refused to honour their invitations and abused them instead.
“On 12th August 2022 the APC Wukari Local Government wrote a letter to the State APC on the above complaints. Having investigated and confirmed that all constitutional procedures of fair hearing and disciplinary steps have been satisfactory followed by both the Ward and Local Government level of the party in Kente and Wukari Local Government. The State working Committee in its sitting on Thursday 20th April, 2023 exercised its powers under Article 13.9 iv of the party constitution ratify the decision of the APC Wukari Local Government Area.
“For avoidance of doubt Chief David Sabo Kente Stands Expelled from the All Progressives Congress and should stop parading himself as a Member of the Party hence forth. You will also recall that on 21-3-2023 the APC Fete Ward of Takum L.G.A leveled some offenses against the party by the Senator Elect for Southern Taraba State Hon. Jimkuta S.U David.
“The APC Takum Local Government Constituted a 5 Man Disciplinary Committee who invited Hon. Jimkuta S.U David but he refused to Honour the invitation. The report of the Disciplinary Committee was submitted to APC Takum Local Government who in turn expelled Hon. Jimkuta S.U David from APC. In line with article 13.9 (iv) of the APC constitution 2022 as amended. The State working Committee sat on 20th April, 2023 and hereby ratify the action of the APC Takum Local Government with slight modification in line with 21.5 (h), (ii) by suspending him from the party but recommending to the National Executive Committee for his expulsion from the party for the plethora of offences he is found guilty of Hon. Jimkuta S.U David Stands suspended from the party henceforth.
“We want to notify all Tarabans and All Progressives Congress Members from the southern part of the State that the following persons are the party Chairmen and Secretaries of the Local Governments Areas:

“For avoidance of doubt, Salihu Bako Abdullahi was the Chairman of Donga APC but was removed by the Federal High Court Jalingo on the 12/10/2022 in suit No FHC/JAL/CS/13/2022 Habu Abdulrahman versus- INEC and 3 others. The Judgment has not been appealed against till today.
“The Claim that other Executives have been affirmed by the FHC Jalingo is not true the purported suit which is suit No FHC/JAL/CS/10/2022 Habu Abdulrahman Versus-2 others was struck out for want of Jurisdiction, Any interim or interlocutory order becomes otiose having struck out the suit. It is now non-existent. The officials as given by the National Secretariat of our party on 12/5/2022 remain same until reversed by the National Secretariat. While Condoling the State Government and the PDP over the death of the member- elect for Jalingo/Yorro/Zing Federal Constituency Hon. Ismaila Yushau Maihanci which is a great loss to the State, we call upon Governor Dickson Darius Ishaku to intervene by releasing Mr. Ishmael Yakubu Young J.P from Prison.
“The elections are over. If he is asking for forgiveness he should start by forgiving his perceived enemies let justice be done, let Ishmael Yakubu Young J.P be immediately released from custody – the release concluded.
