The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP led by its acting Chairman illiya Damagu rose from an emergency meeting this tuesday and resolved to challenge the defection of the Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori in court.
Damagu said that ” the National Legal Adviser has been instructed to take legal action to retrieve the party’s mandate taken away to another party” Nothing that “the future of the party cannot be left in the hands of our adversary.We will take legal action to retrieve those mandates”.

the meeting also announced the dissolution of all the party structures in the state as a result of the massive decampment by its members.
He said “we just instructed the zonal caretaker committee toy oversee the operation of Delta state after dissolving all the structure there since majority of the members have shifted and in no long time we will constitute a caretaker committee”.
in a bid to reposition the party,it announced the date for the National Executive Committee, NEC meeting to be held on May 27th and dates were also announced for the party’s national convention.
Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, his Predecessor Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, Senator James Manager who was the pioneer chairman of the people Democratic Party in the state announce their defection to the APC after a long meeting that was held at the Government House Asaba, South-South Nigeria.
Addressing a waiting press after the meeting that lasted for hours,Senator Manager confirmed the obvious when he said they can no longer stay in the party because of the crisis. He said they all decided to massively decamp to the ruling party that “there was no need to stay in a sinking boat” hence they have decided to move after due consultation with party leaders inorder to align with the ruling party,APC to attract more development to the state.
This unprecedented decision moved all the PDP structure including elected members of the State Assembly and Local Government Chairmen in Delta State to the ruling APC and they were graciously welcome into the party by Vice President Shettima,the party national chairman, Sen Ganduje and nearly all the elected APC governors and other party faithfuls#
