The Coalition of Civil Society Groups for Peace, Security, Good Governance, Equity and Justice (CCSG-PSGEJ) led by Comrade James Okoronkwo, hereby condemns the Code of Conduct Bureau’s (CCB) summons of the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Hon. Justice John Tsoho.
We declare this action unconstitutional, a flagrant violation of the Nganjiwa v. FRN precedent, and a direct assault on the Separation of Powers.
We commend Justice Tsoho’s transparency and his proactive step in briefing his lead counsel, Chief Kanu Agabi, SAN While Chief Agabi is currently abroad on a medical trip, he has expressed full readiness to accompany the Chief Judge to the Bureau upon his return.
Our Coalition insists that the CCB must respect the law and the National Judicial Council (NJC) We demand an immediate withdrawal of this summons to protect judicial independence and the Rule of Law.
