Euphemia Nwali, the Chairman of Ezza South Local Government Area of Ebonyi, has presented a budget estimate of Nine billion two hundred and thirty-five million four hundred and fifty-nine thousand three hundred and ninety-eight naira fifty-six kobos (N9,235,459,398.56) for the 2025 fiscal year.
Presenting the budget estimate to the local government Legislative council for approval at Local Government Headquarters Onueke, Nwali said that this year’s budget-tagged Budget of Unity is higher than the 2024.
She noted that the budget would look into critical sectors like Infrastructure, health, education, empowerment,, and others.
From the breakdown Personnel cost General is N3,876,954,955.65 Personnel Cost is N3,042,331,172.66 Overhead Cost is N834,623,783.32 and Capital Expenditure is N4,974,953,359.92 bringing it to total to N9,235,459,398.56
She further said that this year’s budget was aroused due to the inclusion of Development Centers based on the law we have, which stipulates that DCs will have a percentage of the budget, adding DCs will be doing empowerment, contracts, and other projects.
And urged the House to approve the budget adding that She will supervise what all the DCs are doing and how they are implementing the budget to make sure the projects cut across all the communities.
The Chairman further stated that in the year under review, she was able to put some projects on the ground, which included the installation of transformers, installation of solar street lights, empowerment, roads construction, water projects, Distribution of over 80 Vehicles to the vice Chairman, Councilors, Youths, and Stakeholders and many others.
Nwali commended the counselors for their support, noting that the 2025 budget contained projects for all the communities in the council area.
