The Provost of the Federal College of Education (Technical), Isu Onicha Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, Professor Oke Reuben Okechukwu, has been honoured with the prestigious Boaz’s Order of Merit Award in recognition of his outstanding contributions to church, Education and national development.
Professor Okechukwu, a seasoned academic and education administrator, has over the years distinguished himself through exemplary leadership, commitment to church and, institutional growth, and relentless advocacy for quality teacher education in Nigeria.

His tenure as Provost has been marked by academic reforms, infrastructural development, and policies aimed at strengthening technical and vocational education.
The award is being conferred by Heavengate Central Gospel Church Inc. (HGCGC), Survivor Chapel, following what the church described as Professor Okechukwu’s exceptional character, dedication to service, and positive impact on society.
In a letter of notification signed by Senior Pastor Kure Aaron Auta, who is also the CAN Coordinator, Kabusa Ward, AMAC FTC, Abuja, the church expressed delight over its cordial relationship with the Provost and commended his display of agape love and moral integrity.
The letter further noted that the award recognizes the rare bond of mutual respect between the church and the academic community, describing Professor Okechukwu as a devoted Catholic whose life and work continue to inspire excellence beyond denominational lines.
“We shall be highly delighted to have you as a special awardee,” the letter stated.
The Boaz’s Order of Merit Award is scheduled to be formally conferred on Professor Oke Reuben Okechukwu on March 28, 2026, at a special ceremony organized by the church in Kabusa,Abuja.
The honour adds to the growing list of awards received by the Ebonyi-born educationist, further cementing his reputation as a pillar of educational development and a role model in public service.
