The newly elected executives of the Ohaisu Community Development Association have been inaugurated. The event took place on Sunday, 14th, September 2024, at the residence of the traditional ruler of the Ohaisu Community, Ezeogo Arc. Engr. Ewa Elechi.
In his speech, the former President General of the Association, Chief Dr Jasper Okoro, outlined the processes through which the new EXCO were elected from each of the component villages, covering Ukpa, Amachara, Ngodo, Amachi, Amangballa and Egeburu.
He stressed that the OCDA opted to hold the inauguration at the palace of the Ezeogo in the hope of receiving his royal blessings.
He disclosed that the association had, since inception, offered counsels in the area of peace and harmonious relationshipsps, including attracting developmental projects across the six autonomous villages.
In his speech, the Ezeogo of Ohaisu Community, HRH, Arc. Engr. Ewa Elechi, who performed the inauguration, enjoined them to keep the flag flying.
He admonishes the outgoing executives on the areas they need to improve upon and the need to prepare their handover notes for the new EXCO to inherit a stable administration.
He further advised the new EXCO to see their representation as a call to community service and emphasized the need for teamwork to enable them to achieve a collective goal.
He also used the avenue to advise the youths to go into farming, pointing out that it is key for economic sustainability, adding that the good intentions of the Afikpo LGA Chairman, Chief Timothy Nwachi, in the agricultural sector are commendable, and this informed his support to his administration.
He called for synergy and continuous effective service, especially on the issue of security.
In his acceptance speech, the new President General of the association, Elder Dr. Martins Ewa thanked the people for finding them worthy to serve.
While appreciating Ezeogo Ewa Elechi for his reception and fatherly advice, he applauded the efforts of the outgoing executives and appealed that all hands must be on the desk to ensure a successful tenure.
In his vote of thanks, the Vice President General, Prince Patrick Idam thanked everyone for the confidence reposed in them to serve. He promised that they would strive to give the community a positive look.
The highlight of the event was the presentation of a Certificate of recognition to the elected EXCO.
