Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru of Ebonyi State has joined Muslims in the State and across Nigeria in commemorating this year’s Eid al-Maulud, a celebration that marks the birth of Prophet Muhammad.

In a goodwill message issued through his Chief Press Secretary, Dr. Monday Uzor, Governor Nwifuru described the occasion as a period of deep spiritual reflection and renewal of faith for adherents of Islam.

He noted that the Prophet’s life and teachings remain a moral compass for humanity, anchored on the virtues of love, peace, tolerance, and compassion for the less privileged.

“Eid al-Maulud is a time for reflection, renewal of faith, and reaffirmation of our commitment to the principles of love, peace, and compassion that Prophet Muhammad exemplified,” the Governor stated.

Governor Nwifuru called on Muslims to use the celebration to pray for lasting peace, unity, and prosperity in Ebonyi State and Nigeria, stressing the importance of humility, charity, and brotherhood in line with Islamic traditions.

He further assured that his administration would continue to implement people-oriented policies and programmes that cut across religion, tribe, or sentiment, with the ultimate aim of improving the lives of residents.

While commending Muslims in the State for their contributions to peaceful coexistence and development, the Governor urged them not to relent in fostering harmony and unity in their communities.

He wished the Muslim faithful a joyous Eid al-Maulud celebration and reaffirmed his belief that their prayers and goodwill would contribute to a more united and prosperous Ebonyi State.
