Emir of Kano Receives NAWOJ, Tasks them to Protect Rights of Women and Children

The Emir of Kano, Khalifa Muhammad Sanusi ll says, Women Journalists have a vital role to play in matters concerning the protection of the civic rights of women and children in the society.

Khalifa Sanusi ll said this while receiving a delegation from the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ Kano State Chapter, that was at the palace for a courtesy visit to solicit the support of the Kano Emirate in promoting the activities of the association.

Leading the delegation, the National Secretary of the association, Comrade Wasila Ladan noted that the entourage was at the palace to pay homage and to intimate the emirate in the activities of NAWOJ, geared towards the protection of women and children’s rights.

The delegation also congratulated the emir, on his reinstatement and prayed to Almighty Allah to continue to give him more wisdom and courage to keep steering the affairs of the emirate, for the development of the state.

Responding, Mallam Sanusi ll said he was aware of the activities of the association towards mobilizing women in various fields of development, he also stressed that he has hope that such activities would be sustained.

The Emir, Khalifa Muhammad Sanusi ll therefore, implored NAWOJ to continue to strictly adhere with the ethics of the profession to enable the association, Kano State, and the whole country to succeed.
