The Executive Chairman of Ezza South Local Government Area, Ebonyi State, Mrs. Euphemia Nwali, has extended warm felicitations to the people of Ezza Ezekuna Nation as they celebrate the 2025 Okeaku Festival, a time-honoured cultural event symbolising harvest, thanksgiving, and unity.
In a goodwill message, Mrs. Nwali described the festival as “a proud reflection of Ezza’s identity, heritage, and agricultural excellence,” praising the enduring spirit of hard work, hospitality, and communal harmony that continues to fuel growth across the local government.

“Okeaku is more than a festival it is the soul of our culture and a tribute to the wisdom and labour of our forefathers,” she noted.
Reaffirming her administration’s commitment to grassroots development, the council boss announced that additional rural road projects and community-linked initiatives are underway, aimed at enhancing connectivity and boosting local economies.“
As your Chairman, I am resolute in ensuring that the dividends of democracy reach every home. We are opening more access roads, improving infrastructure, and promoting community-based initiatives that reflect our values and priorities,” she assured.
Mrs. Nwali called on all Ezza sons and daughters, both at home and in the diaspora, to use the festival to promote peace, unity, and support for the vulnerable, emphasising the role of cultural pride in preserving identity and shaping development.
She concluded her message with a strong cultural affirmation:
“Ezza Ezekuna anyi abo ooh! Awhua l’aburu anyi awhua oma!” A heartfelt prayer for peace, unity, and progress in every household.
