Ahead of preparation towards the forthcoming Brunel Training for Vice Principals in FCT Schools, the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), through the Education Secretariat is set to host a 2-day training for Vice Principals (Academics) of FCT Secondary Schools on Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education. The training will take place on February 18-19, 2025, at the Nigeria Building and Road Research Institute (NBBRI), Abuja.

This initiative is part of the ongoing efforts of the Brunel Team in the Education Sector of the FCT, which has been embarking on various training programs in line with entrepreneurship values to positively impact both teachers and students. The team, led by Dr. Sani Ladan, Director/Secretary of the FCT Secondary Education Board, has consistently emphasized the importance of entrepreneurship knowledge for economic independence and societal development.

According to Dr. Ladan, “Entrepreneurship is a gateway to self-reliance and a tool for positively impacting society. It is crucial for educators to embrace and promote these values to transform our education system and prepare students for the future.” He urged participants to be ready to change the narratives by integrating entrepreneurial skills into their schools and daily lives while commending the FCT Administration for providing the opportunity for training at Brunel University, UK. Since their return, the team has continued to create significant impact in teaching and learning environments across the FCT.

The training program will feature sessions on critical topics such as Understanding Entrepreneurship Education, Leadership for Entrepreneurship, Stakeholder Engagement, Resource Mobilization, and Curriculum Development.

Dignitaries expected at the event include:
Hon. Minister of State, FCT – Opening Remarks
FCT Secretary for Education – Special Remarks
FCT Permanent Secretary for Education – Keynote Address
Directors from UBEB and the FCT Department of Science, Technology, and Innovation
Through this initiative, the FCTA aims to equip Vice Principals with the skills and knowledge needed to foster entrepreneurship education, preparing students for self-sufficiency and economic growth.
