The Director, Department of School Sports of the Education Secretariat,Malam Hashimu Adamu has announced the commencement of the next phase of the ongoing Barr. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike Renewed Hope School Sports Festival, 2025, following the successful completion of the zonal preliminaries.

Speaking at the end of the first phase, Hashimu explained that the festival will resume on Tuesday, 18th February 2025, with two major conferences in this order of Western Conference featuring teams from Abaji, Kwali, Gwagwalada, and Tunga Maje and the
Venue will be Government Secondary School (GSS), Gwagwalada while the
Eastern Conference is featuring teams from Kuje, Tudun Wada, Dutse, and Karu with
Venue at Government Secondary School (GSS), Garki Area 10.
According to him, the winners of all games except athletics from each zone will compete at the conference stage. In the Eastern Conference Senior School Football (Girls) category, GDSS Karu, Fosla Academy, ADSS Maitama, and GSS Kubwa will represent their zones.
He stated that Government Day Secondary School,Karu boys Team will be in the Eastern Conference after defeating Fosla Academy boys Team.

The Director added that all athletics events are scheduled to take place from Monday, 24th February to Thursday, 27th February 2025. All qualified athletes from the eight (8) zones are expected to resume camp on Sunday, 23rd February 2025 at the Department of School Sports Office, Utako while the Cricket Tournament will be at MKO National Stadium
He noted that
as part of the festival, the Cricket Arena at the MKO National Stadium, will host junior and senior school teams competing in the Cricket Tournament with participating schools include, GSSS Maitama Abuja, GSS Garki Area 10,GSS Karu,
ADJSS Asokoro ,
GSS Jabi,JSS Jabi,
GGSS Dutse ,
GDSS Karu,
JSS Durumi
GGSSS Kuje,
GSS Kuje,
GSS Tudun Wada Wuse 4,GSS Zone 3 and JSS Area 10 respectively.
The Director who was delighted at the performances of each school expressed profound appreciation to the Honorable Minister of the FCT, Barr. Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, CON, for his unwavering commitment and tremendous support for school sports development, which continues to make the Renewed Hope Agenda a reality in FCT Education.
He also thanked the Secretary for Education, Dr. Danlami Hayyo, for his dedication to ensuring all sporting programs hold as scheduled and for his continued encouragement of participating teams across the various zones.
