President and Founder of a non governmental organisation, the Initiative for Women’s Accelerated Development in Africa INWOAD and Publisher Phenomenal People Magazine Ms. Evelyn Onyilo has been honoured with a National Distinguished Leadership Award.
The award was presented to the veteran Journalist and Women’s advocate Evelyn Onyilo by the Northern Youth Peace Ambassadors NYPA in Abuja over the weekend.
President of the Group Engr. Abdulmalik Usman said Ms Evelyn Onyilo was nominated for the award in recognition of her sterling leadership, passionate professional capabilities, and selfless commitment to humanitarian causes. They described the former NAWOJ President as an Icon of Transformation and a Peace Ambassador who has continued to contribute her quota to national development and mentoring of young people.
While congratulating Ms Onyilo for the Award, the Youth Leader enjoined her to continue to be a beacon of hope and advocate for the teeming youth population.
The award recipient, Evelyn Onyilo expressed her profound gratitude to the Northern Youth Peace Ambassadors for finding her worthy for the honour.
She reiterated her commitment to continue to advocate for gender equality, youth empowerment and service to humanity in general. She said Nigeria must recognise the importance of women and youth in nation building and work towards their inclusion in all spheres of development.
