Kano State Government Begins Orientation for 50 Students Awarded Al-Azhar University Scholarship

The Kano State Government has commenced a 9-day orientation program for 50 students who received scholarships from Al-Azhar University in Egypt. The program, taking place at Government Girls College, Kano, aims to prepare the students for their studies in Arabic law courses.
Commissioner of Education, Alhaji Umar Haruna Doguwa, stated that the orientation program includes lectures from professional teachers and Ulamas to prepare the students for their journey. He assured the students that the government will provide necessary support to ensure their comfort and success.
The government has also taken steps to restore the state’s education sector, including massive school enrollment, distribution of instructional materials, and reopening of boarding schools. The Commissioner congratulated the students and charged them to be good ambassadors of the state.
State Hisbah Commander General, Sheik Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa, emphasized the importance of hard work, loyalty, and perseverance. The beneficiaries thanked the Kano State government and Al-Azhar University for the opportunity. The program coordinator, Dr. Abdukadir Kurawa, expressed gratitude to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for his support.
