A native from Calabar, Malam Abdullahi Mohd, received support from the Kano State Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation. Malam Abdullahi, who has lived in Kano for 29 years, was disowned by his family and has built a new life with his wife and nine children.

The Honourable Commissioner, Hajiya Amina Abdullahi Sani (HOD), was represented by Permanent Secretary, Hajiya Amina Yusuf Yargaya. The Ministry donated food items, including flour, rice, maize, and palm oil, to support the family and Malam Abdullahi’s wife’s cooking business. The Ministry also paid the family’s house rent for the year.

Malam Abdullahi and the caretaker expressed gratitude to the Executive Governor, His Excellency Engr Abba Kabir Yusuf, for establishing the Ministry, which supports vulnerable individuals across the state. Malam Abdullahi promised to name his future daughter Amina or Yusuf in appreciation.

In light of the current economic hardship, the Permanent Secretary appeals to the public to support the State Government in assisting the vulnerable. Your contributions can make a significant difference.
