Today, on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, Barrister Kelechi Igwe PhD, the 4th Deputy Governor of Ebonyi State, successfully concluded his dedicated eight-year tenure and officially handed over the office to the current Deputy Governor, Her Excellency, Honorable Princess Patricia Onyemaechi Obila. It is worth noting that she holds the esteemed position of being the first female Deputy Governor of Ebonyi State, a remarkable achievement attributed to Divine Grace.
In his remarks, His Excellency Barrister Kelechi Igwe congratulated Her Excellency on her historic appointment and encouraged her to remain steadfast in fulfilling her responsibilities. The former Deputy Governor also expressed his appreciation and gave credit to his superior, His Excellency Engineer David Nweze Umahi, the former Governor of Ebonyi State.
During his term, Barrister Kelechi Igwe proudly mentioned his active participation in the National Economic Council Meeting, the preeminent decision-making body for economic matters in Nigeria.
In addressing the office staff, His Excellency Barrister Kelechi Igwe extended his heartfelt gratitude for their unwavering support in their collective pursuit of progress and prosperity for Ebonyi State.
Responding to the former Deputy Governor’s commendation, Her Excellency, Honorable Princess Patricia Obila, expressed her appreciation and acknowledged the points highlighted by Barrister Kelechi Igwe. She emphasized the importance of addressing those areas and assured that, with the guidance and cooperation of the office staff, she would fulfill her duties diligently.
