NAWOJ FCT Visits AHBN, Explore Partnership

The New Executive Council of the National Association of women Journalists (NAWOJ) Abuja Chapter, today Tue, 16th April 2024 paid a courtesy and advocacy visit to the Africa Health Budget Network Headquarters in Abuja, Nigeria. The team was led by its chairperson Mrs. Bassey Ikpang and received by Dr. Aminu Magashi Garba the CEO of AHBN.

The meeting deliberated on exploring partnership and collaboration between NAWOJ and AHBN to further support women journalists as well as raising more visibility on issues related to Health, and other development agendas. AHBN pledged to support NAWOJ Abuja Chapter in the following areas; Provide trainings support to the new executive council on governance and leadership for effective reporting. AHBN to support NAWOJ to commission annual awards for best performing women journalists in reporting Immunization, women’s health and education. AHBN to support with a take off donation to the new Exco of NAWOJ Abuja ChapterAHBN to co-finance NAWOJ monthly congress meeting to be covering water and drinks over the next 12 months. 5. AHBN to provide a resource person for the March 2024 NAWOJ monthly congress meeting to speak on zero dose learning hub and how women journalists can be reporting on zero dose children and missed communities.
