The National Executive Council (NEC) and the entire membership of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) have felicitated the National Chairperson, Comrade Hajia Aisha Ibrahim, as she celebrates her birthday.
In a goodwill message signed by the National Secretary, Comrade Wasilah I. Ladan, the association described Hajia Aisha Ibrahim as a visionary and transformational leader whose tenure has brought renewed visibility, growth and impact to NAWOJ.
Ladan, on behalf of the National Secretariat, NEC, State Chapters and members of NAWOJ across the country, expressed heartfelt appreciation for the National Chairperson’s dedication to advancing the welfare and professional interests of women journalists.
She said the achievements recorded under Aisha Ibrahim’s leadership were evidence of her commitment to building a stronger and more united association.
According to her, the successful WINSEC Summit and Awards 2026, which brought together women from the media, governance and security sectors, remains one of the significant milestones of the current leadership.
She also commended the National Chairperson’s persistent advocacy for the establishment of a permanent NAWOJ National Secretariat in Abuja, describing the initiative as part of her broader vision for institutional growth and sustainability.
“Your leadership has redefined what it means to serve. In these few years under your watch, NAWOJ has witnessed unprecedented growth, visibility and impact. You came in with a vision, and today, that vision is gradually becoming a legacy that will outlive us,” Ladan stated.
The National Secretary further praised Aisha Ibrahim for her ability to unite State Chairpersons and members across geographical, religious and ethnic divides, describing her as a mother, mentor, bridge-builder and strong voice for women journalists.
She noted that the National Chairperson’s leadership style, which places emphasis on service, sacrifice and sincerity, had earned her the affection and respect of many members of the association.
While celebrating her new age, the NAWOJ family prayed for Allah’s continued guidance, protection, wisdom, sound health and long life for the National Chairperson.
“May Allah continue to open doors of greatness for you, grant you success in all your endeavours and reward you abundantly for every life you have touched through NAWOJ,” the message added.
The association also prayed that Aisha Ibrahim would live to witness the full realisation of her dreams and aspirations for NAWOJ, urging her to continue serving as a source of inspiration and strength to women journalists across Nigeria and beyond.
“Happy birthday to our leader, our mother and our pride. The entire NAWOJ family celebrates you today and always,” Ladan said.
