In view of the recent rise of insecurity and thuggery within Minna metropolis and it’s environs the Deputy Governor of Niger State Comrade Yakubu Garba has expressed deep concern to fight to stop the spread of the ugly trend.
The Deputy Governor who Yesterday embarked on a night vigil to fish out unscrupulous elements causing mayhem and unrest to the public was in the company of security agencies in the state , including the Commissioner of Police, the Department of State Services (DSS), Civil Defence, Vigilante group and others– visiting major affected areas around Minna , the state capital.
While on the security outing, the Deputy Governor led the delegation meeting traditional leaders in the visited communities notable for such crimes issuing stern warning to exposed bad elements living within them or else they will face the wrath of the law.
Furthermore, Yakubu Garba has instructed security personnel to intensify operations in identified flashpoint areas, apprehend those involved in criminal activities, and restore peace to the state capital and surrounding communities.
The Deputy Governor further revealed that any community found to harbor or conceal criminal elements without reporting to the authorities will also face consequences. Comrade Yakubu Garba also advised the general public to Report any form of crime to the Authority for immediate action and enjoined citizens of the state to go on with their daily businesses.Areas visited includes Dutsen Kura , Kpakungu, Soje A&B, Morris area ,Tudun Wada police station , Maitumbi , Central police station Minna, Area Command Limawa and Ketaren Gwari.
