NUJ FCT Football Tournament : A Celebration of Unity, Sportsmanship, and Collaboration…Dr Otabor

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) FCT Football Tournament has once again brought together security agencies, government parastatals, and media professionals in a celebration of unity, fitness, and collaboration. The closing ceremony of the 2025 edition was marked by praise from Dr. Christopher Otabor, Chairman of the ceremony, who commended the NUJ for organizing a successful event.

According to Dr. Otabor, the tournament has played a significant role in fostering unity and collaboration among the participating teams. He highlighted the importance of such events in promoting teamwork and sportsmanship, values that extend beyond the realm of sports itself.

The tournament saw the Nigeria Air Force (NAF) team emerge as winners, defeating the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) 8-7 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in regular time. Dr. Otabor commended the participating teams for displaying good sportsmanship throughout the tournament.

The NUJ Chairman was also praised for providing a platform for networking and engagement among journalists and participating organizations. Dr. Otabor expressed gratitude to the NUJ for organizing the event and appreciated the role it played in promoting unity and collaboration.

The event was sponsored by AIBEN Properties Limited, which has pledged to host the 4th edition of the tournament in 2026. This commitment underscores the success of the tournament and the impact it has had on the participating teams and organizations.
