Hon. Ikenna Nwankwor has accepted his appointment as Director General of the Okenwa Ogbunka Campaign Organization for Labour Party candidate Prince Chibuike Echem in the Orumba North and South Federal Constituency race.
The appointment was announced on Friday in Abuja by Echem, who described the new DG as a seasoned grassroots politician.

Asked if he can deliver, Nwankwor responded confidently: “Yes, of course. I possess the requisite quality to manage the campaign and to deliver Okenwa Ogbunka.”
He cited his track record, noting: “I have held a similar position like that. Even the one that is more than that.”
Nwankwor said he currently serves as President General of Orumba Town People Union in Abuja and has previously been Secretary of Orumba North Local Government.
He also disclosed that he was Chairman of Ufuma Union in Abuja and a former councilor in his community, adding that he has “represented both in government circle and as a private individual.”
On strategy, he advised Echem to prioritize grassroots engagement. “My advice to Okenwa is to ensure that he listens to the grassroots and carry everybody along.”
According to him, carrying everybody along means “you will not forget anybody or leave anybody behind. This is representation.”
He urged the candidate not to differentiate between the rich and the poor, but to “represent everybody” and understand what the people need.
Nwankwor said knowing the environment well will enable Echem to “negotiate for them at the federal level.”
Speaking on LP’s chances, he expressed optimism, citing the party’s 2023 performance. “LP will make a difference this time around. They are going to surprise so many people.”
He added that many Orumba voters are “dismayed by the performance of others” and are ready to “give LP a try or a chance this time around.”
