The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader in Ebonyi State and its 2023 governorship candidate, Chief Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii, has congratulated the newly elected National Working Committee (NWC) of the party, declaring that the PDP has regained its footing and is poised for the next phase of Nigeria’s democratic journey.

In a statement issued by the spokesman of the Anyi Ga Emeya Movement, Mazi Moses E. Idika, Odii commended the emergence of Alhaji Abdulrahman Mohammed as National Chairman and Senator Samuel Anyanwu as National Secretary, describing their election as a victory for constitutionalism and the rule of law.

Odii, who led Ebonyi delegates to the PDP’s 2026 elective National Convention in Abuja, said the outcome of the convention reflected the party’s resilience and commitment to internal democracy despite recent challenges.

He particularly felicitated the National Leader of the party, Barrister Nyesom Wike, for what he described as his steadfast role in safeguarding the PDP from forces allegedly bent on undermining its democratic structure.

The Ebonyi PDP chieftain also celebrated the election of two indigenes of the state into the party’s national leadership—Hon. Chidiebere Goodluck Egwu as Deputy National Publicity Secretary and Mazi Moses Eze Idika as National Ex-Officio member—saying their emergence would strengthen the party’s presence in the South-East.

Odii expressed confidence that with the new leadership in place, the PDP is repositioned to play a more formidable role in Nigeria’s political landscape.
