Ogah Commissions EBBC Staff’s New Home in Ikwo, Pledges Solar Streetlights

The Member representing Ikwo/Ezza-South Federal Constituency and Chairman, House Committee on Reformatory Institutions, Rt. Hon. (Comrade) Chinedu Ogah, OON, has commissioned a newly completed residential house built by Mr. Samuel Nwanchor, a staff member of the Ebonyi State Broadcasting Corporation (EBBC).

The house-warming ceremony took place at Mr. Nwanchor’s country home in Oroña Amagu, Ikwo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, and attracted government officials, community leaders, professionals and well-wishers.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Ogah commended Mr. Nwanchor for his diligence, discipline and commitment to personal development, describing the achievement as a clear testament to hard work, dedication and effective mentorship.

He urged young people to remain focused, shun distractions and invest wisely in ventures capable of securing their future.

The lawmaker made financial donations to the family and also promised to install solar streetlights along the Ezemeze Oronga Amagu Road to improve safety and enhance development in the area.

In his remarks, Mr. Samuel Nwanchor expressed gratitude for the support and encouragement he received from Hon. Ogah, noting that the lawmaker’s financial assistance and mentorship contributed significantly to the successful completion of the house. He described the occasion as fulfilling and inspiring.

Mr. Nwanchor also appreciated Barr. Igberi Nweme, former Chairman of Ikwo Local Government Area, for sponsoring his university education through the payment of his school fees, describing the gesture as pivotal to his personal and professional growth.

The commissioning ceremony featured prayers led by Rev. Fr. Ifeanyi Ogodo, former Director of Citizens Advocate Press, alongside goodwill messages and cultural displays by community groups.

Government dignitaries at the event included the Honourable Commissioner for Education, Hon. Ilang Donatus; Hon. Friday Nwakpu, Member II, Local Government Service Commission; Hon. Monday Nwigbo, Coordinator, Ikwo South Development Centre; and Hon. Mrs. Chinasa Nwanchor.

Other notable guests were the National Legal Adviser of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Barr. Okeagu Ogada; Justice Vincent Nwanchor of the Federal High Court, Abakaliki; Prof. Amons Nworie; Associate Professor Onyebuchi Igwe; the Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Ebonyi State Chapter, Prof. Ogugua Egwu, alongside his Trade Union Congress (TUC) counterpart; colleagues of the host from the Ebonyi State Broadcasting Corporation; and other invited guests.
