Former Deputy Senate President and Delta Central Senatorial aspirant, Ovie Omo-Agege, has declared victory in the All Progressives Congress (APC) Senate Primary Election for Delta Central Senatorial District, following what he described as a decisive showing across the district’s 85 wards.

In a press statement issued on Sunday, Omo-Agege expressed gratitude to APC leaders, delegates, and party members for what he termed a “historic turnout” during the primary election conducted across the eight local government areas of Delta Central.
According to him, collated results from the wards indicated overwhelming support for him, with “long open secret balloting queues” reflecting the confidence of party members in his candidacy and political vision for the district.
The former Deputy Senate President described the outcome as a strong endorsement of his mission to strengthen the APC and provide robust representation for Delta Central at the National Assembly.
“I extend my deepest gratitude to the leaders, delegates, and members of the All Progressives Congress in Delta Central Senatorial District for your resolute support and historic turnout in today’s Senate Primary Election,” he stated.
Omo-Agege further commended party members for maintaining unity, discipline, and orderliness throughout the exercise, noting that the conduct of the primary demonstrated the growing strength and cohesion of the APC in Delta Central.
With the primary concluded, the APC chieftain said attention would now shift to the forthcoming general election, where he pledged to work towards securing the party’s victory in Delta Central and mobilising support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He added that the focus ahead would be on consolidating party unity and strengthening mobilisation efforts across all wards in the senatorial district.
Omo-Agege, however, noted that the party’s National Headquarters in Abuja had yet to make the official declaration of the primary results. He urged APC members and supporters to remain calm and united pending the party leadership’s formal announcement.
“In line with the directive of the National Organising Secretary of the APC yesterday, we now await the official declaration by the National Headquarters in Abuja,” he stated.
The APC stalwart also pledged to intensify effortsto defendg the interests of Delta Central in the Senate andto contributeg to the success of the APC in Delta State and across Nigeria.
The Delta Central Senatorial District remains one of the key political strongholds in Delta State, with the APC expected to mount a strong challenge in the forthcoming elections.
