Here is the interview with her ahead of Official Commissioning of One of their Projects. They have proved that Women in building can be trusted. WQ : Let’s Meet You Ma.
1) Hajia Binta Ibrahim,fcai, arpa. the President CEO of Women Housing Plan Initiative/ limited. The current Chairperson of The REDAN National Women Developers committee. Under The Real Estate Developers Association of Nigeria (REDAN) Umbrella Body of Developers Nationwide. Current 2nd National Vice President, NCWS Nigeria, and the proprietress of DEENFIELDS International Academy Apo Abuja, to mention a few.
WQ : Tell us More About the Women Housing Plan Limited. What is it all about and what’s your role in it ??
2) The Women Housing plan was conceived in the year 2007, I am the founder of the organization with 6 board of directors. a wonderful vibrant dedicated 14 regular staff, over 60 casual workers under the organization’s payroll nationwide over seeing the day to day activities of the organization.
WhPI is a shelter initiative
Which has its primary objective in empowering women and families to enable them to own their houses in our towns and in cities through easy terms financing. Thus, gradual payment for property is an integral part of our operation, which makes it easy for women and families to acquire properties, thereby in line with the sustainable development goal to promote gender equality.
WHPI is the first of its kind in Nigeria, an affiliate member of the National Council of Women Society (NCWS). Members of the Real Estate Developer Association of Nigeria (REDAN) and registered member of Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria ( FMBN) informal cooperative society .

WQ : How did you land the Contract to build the NCWS FCT Secretariat?
3) In February 2023, The FCT President Hajia Hadiza Abdullahi and the Project Chairperson madam Nancy Bulus approach us with a proposal for joint venture partnership with Women Housing Plan Limited, both parties entered into the joint venture agreement to construct an ultra modern NCWS office complex with shopping facilities to accommodate the developer. This explains it, there was not any contract awarded, as ithe project was delivered under the JOINT VENTURE PARTNERSHIP TERMS.
Where Ncws provides the land and women Housing provides funding and construction of the entire project to delivery point. with both parties having an agreement on sharing terms.
WQ : How many Other Projects do you have across the country?
4) Achievement
So far, WHPI Limited has constructed 37 units of comprehensive mixed housing unit in Dakibiyu District of the Fct, 48 units of 1 and 2 bedroom bungalows at masaka Nasarawa state. 18 units of 3 bedroom block of flats in Karu. Currently, we have unveiled for site and services construction of 500 comprehensive housing units at Zuba FCT, a 60 units on going site and services plot in shangotedo along the newly constructed coastal road Lekki Lagos . A 36 mini estate in millennium city in kaduna. About to launch our Kano project, construction and sale of individual stand alone properties among land ownership yet to be launched.
We are also open to partnerships with federal /state or local governments, individuals and International collaborations.
WQ : What’s Your Message to young women who wish to venture into building??
5) As the pioneer chairperson of the Redan National women developers committee. It’s part of my mandate to organize training and mentoring programs where we break it down to women to understand that real estate sector has a bright future for women and girls. We have women striving well in the sector. Thou it’s stil a virgin space for women, with full advocacy and constant media engagement we will get there so far, we are making great progress with mentorship.
WQ : Do you have any mentorship programme for young women ?
6) Yes we are collaborating with like minds in the industry to provide that just recently we hand a training section where young girls from secondary, university and NYSC where trained in collaboration with an NGO on artisan ship. Plumbing, tiling, painting etc.
WQ : Ma’am Where do you see WHPL in the next 5 years. Congratulations.
7) Alhamdulilah we have been having steady growth. My expectations is to see WHPI take over the provision of affordable housing specifically for women and families nationwide. We are talking about with some states.
I hope we close some deals and have that presence fully In the 6 geo political areas if not in all the states in the next 5 years by his grace.
