The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr. Tanko Yamawo, has assured Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) supporters backing President Tinubu’s re-election that their loyalty will be handsomely rewarded after the elections.
Yamawo gave the assurance in Abuja when political stalwarts of the FCT APC and the PDP, led by the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, converged on Kuje Area Council to openly seal the growing political collaboration deals under the Rainbow Coalition Model.

According to the FCT APC Chairman, Tanko Yamawo, this is a new era in the history of the territory, in which FCT PDP supporters have chosen to farm (work) for President Tinubu while patiently waiting for their turn and the bumper harvest that comes with aligning with a visionary leader.
“Mr. Minister, sir, we are here to address members of our parties, the APC and PDP, whom you have brought together under your leadership as the leader of the Rainbow Coalition.
“Today is an era to farm for the APC. And we are promising you that if this unity continues, and I believe, Insha’Allah, it will continue and stand, we are going to pay back to the PDP in a big way,” Yamawo assured.
Yamawo further noted that the prevailing atmosphere of cooperation has created opportunities for political stakeholders to work together, exchange ideas, and pursue common goals for the development of the territory.
The FCT APC Chairman also highlighted the significance of the Rainbow Coalition as a platform for uniting political interests and strengthening grassroots engagement.
He likened the coalition’s approach to “Gayya,” a traditional communal practice in which members of a community choose a day to come together to farm collectively for a particular member, with the understanding that the gesture will be reciprocated for others who participated in the venture.
Yamawo also acknowledged the Federal Government’s infrastructure and development initiatives across the FCT, expressing optimism that continued cooperation would contribute to improved community development and stronger political engagement.
Yamawo particularly commended the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory for fostering unprecedented political unity, peace, and harmony among members of both the APC and the PDP under the Rainbow Coalition.
He noted that the current administration’s grassroots engagement and negotiation approaches had ended unnecessary protests, fighting, and the smashing of cars belonging to opposition members, which were often experienced during campaigns.
“This is the first time we are campaigning in the FCT and no car smashing has been recorded anywhere because there is unity in the FCT, courtesy of the Honourable Minister of the Federal Capital Territory.
“So, we thank you sincerely for what you have done and the foundation you have laid for the political class of the FCT to rescue us.
“Today, we drive in the same car with my colleague there, the PDP Chairman. We eat from the same pot with my colleague here, the PDP Chairman. We share ideas because the Minister has told us that partnership can bring progress and partnership can bring results,” he said.
As political activities gather momentum ahead of the 2027 elections, the FCT APC Chairman reaffirmed his commitment to the Rainbow Coalition, with renewed calls for unity, sustained cooperation, and a collective commitment to the political and developmental aspirations of the Federal Capital Territory.
