By Joy Omagha Idam

Captain Chris Najomo, Director-General of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, has expressed optimism that the Super Eagles will qualify for the 2026 World Cup. Declaring that all Hope is not lost.

In an exclusive interview with Weekenders Magazine Online Media, Najomo highlighted the significance of Nigeria’s participation in the World Cup, citing its positive impact on aviation business. He believes that with determination and hard work, the team can secure the necessary wins to qualify.

The Super Eagles face stiff competition in their remaining matches, particularly against Rwanda and South Africa. Nigeria currently trails behind South Africa, Benin Republic, Rwanda, and potentially Lesotho in the group standings.

To qualify, the team must win all their remaining matches, including those against Rwanda, South Africa, Lesotho, and Benin Republic. Experts argue that the team’s inconsistent performance and transitional phases have hindered their progress.

The Super Eagles’ next match against Rwanda on tonight , will be a crucial test of their qualification hopes. A win would boost their chances, while a loss could further complicate their situation. With four games left in the qualifying campaign, the team must capitalize on every opportunity to secure maximum points and make a strong case for qualification.

Capt Chris Najomo wishes the team best of luck on the journey to World Cup. If there is one Nigerian who believes in the Super Eagles and have not given up on them it is the NCAA Boss. May God grant the super Eagles good luck.
