The Director General/Chief Executive Officer of the National Institute for Sports (NIS), H.E. Comrade Philip Shaibu, on Wednesday paid a condolence visit to the Deputy Governor of Edo State, Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa, at his residence, following the passing of his mother, Mrs. Esther Imaguomwanruo Idahosa (née Enabulele), who died peacefully at the age of 95.

During the visit, Comrade Shaibu expressed deep sympathy to the Deputy Governor and the entire Idahosa and Enabulele families, describing the late matriarch as a woman of great virtue whose life was marked by faith, strength, and unwavering dedication to her family and community.
“It is always painful to lose a loved one, especially a mother with whom you shared a close bond. However, we take solace in the fact that she has gone to be with the Lord,” Shaibu said.

He added, “Death is inevitable; one day we will all join Mama in heaven. But while we are here on earth, we must strive to do what is right and leave behind a good legacy.”
He prayed for the repose of her soul and for God to grant the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Responding, Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa appreciated the visit and kind words of the NIS DG/CEO, stating that the family remains grateful to God for the long and meaningful life their mother lived.

Mrs. Esther Imaguomwanruo Idahosa is remembered as a venerable matriarch whose life touched many and whose legacy will endure in the hearts of all who knew her.
