The Project Manager of Brass Engineering and Construction Ltd, Engr. Frank Ngwu, has paid glowing tribute to the Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, describing him as a leader whose legacy extends beyond infrastructure to building institutions, professionals and future leaders.
In a goodwill message marking Umahi’s 63rd birthday, Ngwu said the former Ebonyi State governor has consistently demonstrated visionary leadership, generosity and an unwavering commitment to excellence that has transformed countless lives.
He said Umahi would be remembered not only for constructing roads and bridges but also for raising people and strengthening institutions.
“History will undoubtedly remember you not merely as a builder of roads and bridges, but as a builder of institutions, a builder of character, a builder of professionals, and above all, a builder of men whose lives continue to impact generations,” he said.
Ngwu described the minister as one of the rare leaders whose influence transcends public office, noting that his courage, foresight and dedication to national development have left lasting footprints in governance.
Reflecting on his personal experience, the engineer said he remains one of the beneficiaries of Umahi’s mentorship and leadership.
“Without any biological relationship or community affiliation, you chose to believe in me, entrusted me with responsibilities, exposed me to opportunities that many only dream of, and patiently guided my professional development in engineering and project management,” he said.
According to him, Umahi did more than assign responsibilities, saying he built capacity, cultivated competence and empowered young professionals to contribute meaningfully to national development.
He added that the values of discipline, integrity, diligence, accountability and innovation instilled by the minister continue to guide his professional and personal life.
Ngwu further commended Umahi’s record in public service, stating that every office he has occupied has been marked by bold leadership, visionary reforms and transformational infrastructure.
He also praised the minister’s performance in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, saying Umahi has distinguished himself as one of the most innovative and result-oriented members of the Federal Executive Council through his commitment to quality infrastructure, strict engineering standards and efforts to restore public confidence in Nigeria’s road construction sector.
