Submit to Your Husbands – Mary Ogah

Mary Chinedu Ogah, wife of the Member Representing Ikwo Ezza South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives Hon. Chinedu Ogah Wednesday urged women to show love and respect to their husband to foster peace and unity in the family.

Mrs. Ogah stated this during the 2024 Ikwo/Ezza South federal constituency August General Assembly organised by the wife of the lawmaker at Central School, Agubia Ikwo.

The event was attended by representatives of the Wife of the Governor of Ebonyi State, Commissioner for Women Affairs. Felicia Nwamkpuma, Euphemia Nwali, and other dignitaries, including local government officials and women’s groups.

Speaking, Ogah commended Mary-Maudlin Nwifuru, for her efforts in promoting women inclusiveness in the current administration.

She emphasised the work of the Better Health for Rural Women, Children, and Internally Displaced Persons (BERWO) foundation in supporting elderly women and the less privileged.

“Our First Lady has set a standard for us to follow, ensuring positive influence at the grassroots level,” Mrs. Ogah stated. “Today, we celebrate every woman for their unwavering support and role in their families.”

Ogah further called on women to be active in nurturing and raising their children, emphasizing the importance of working harmoniously with their husbands to achieve common goals. “A wise woman builds her home, shows genuine love, and supports her husband’s leadership in the family,” she added.

The wife of the Speaker of the Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Florence Ije Odunwa, who chaired the occasion, commended the women for their participation and advised them to keep their homes free from conflict.

There were Lectures on nutrition, better health living and other topics by Igwe Chinedu and Mrs. Monic Ogada.

The resources persons emphasized on the qualities of a good woman and wife, including being a caregiver, teacher, nurse, doctor, and dietician within the home.

South East Coordinator of Association of Micro Credit Institute of Nigeria, Nweke Comfort, empowered women in agriculture by providing seedlings and organic farming input.

The event featured medical outreach, dancing competition beauty contest awards presentation, cooking competition by Honeywell Company, and cultural displays.

Ogah also distributed 155 bags of fertilizer bags of salt , onions and cash to Constituents.
