Properties and Houses worth thousands of naira have been destroyed in Mayo Selbe, Gashaka Local Government Area of Taraba State.
The Third Class Chief (Kum) Mayo Selbe HRH. Kum Thomas Maiyanga Shaibu confirmed this to newsmen in a telephone conversation.
The downfall in Mayo Selbe, resulted in to flood disaster which destroyed residence, farm land, and other goods and services of the local people.
This is the first time the area is witnessing such natural disaster which also led to the collapse of a bridge within the town.
He called on Government to as matter of urgency come to the aid of the community as the locals have lost virtually all their properties, houses and foods to the flood disaster.
He said, the victims have been subjected to untold hardship as a lot of them doesn’t have shelter and a place to lay their heads.
He appeal to both federal and state governments to assist the victims to rebuild their ruins.
Recall that the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA have announced that many states including Taraba State, would experience heavy downpour, leading to flood.
