Taraban have been call upon to support the current administration of Governor Kefas Agbu for the development of the state.
The Former Governor of Taraba State, Rev. Jolly Tavoro Nyame made the call during the Youth and Young Adult Ministry of the Southern Conference of the United Methodist Church UMC held at the UMC Camp ground, Apawa, Lau local government Area, Taraba State.
The Former Governor who was represented by Hon. Celestine David Kovona said that the Governor Kefas Agbu mean well for the state.
In his remarks, the Director Connectional Ministries of the United Methodist Church UMC Rev. Dr. Philip Micah Dopah urged Youths to be Holy.
“As the Theme for this year: Without Holiness, you can’t see God, Hebrew 12:14. The UMC should demonstrate Holiness also.
He urged the Youths of UMC to exhibit cleanliness especially at the UMC Camp ground.
“Streets in Jalingo are now clean and decent, so also the Camp ground should be clean.
“You should devote at least one hour to clean your environment.
He call on the Youths to take the advantage of the Free Education policy initiated by Governor Kefas Agbu to go back to school and further their Education.
“The government of Governor Kefas Agbu is for the Youths and looking forward unto the Youths for their contributions.
He also call on them to add value to the teachings received during the program for the development of the society in general.
Rev. Dopah further advise the Youths to be creative rather than relying on the government.
“Use your qualifications obtained from various Universities to create impact for us. Use it to change UMC, State and the Nation at large.
He disclose that the World has a population of over 7 Billion which out of the figure, over 5 Billion are Women, over 2 Billion are Men and over 1 Billion Men whom may not be married base on religious and other reasons.
He advise Youths to avoid taking drugs and going to native doctors for any form of help.
“You should avoid all of those, for they are very harmful to both your spiritual and physical health. None of those shall enter the Kingdom of God – he said.
On his part, the Commissioner of Youths and Sports, Hon Joshua Joseph, advised Youths in the state to love one another. He caution Youths in the state to be law abiding and embrace each other in love.
The commissioner frown at youths who spent their times on negative criticism and unguided speech.
The commissioner who was represented by Evang Ephesian Jesse JP state Chairman Youth Wing CAN Taraba State, further urged Youths in the state and Tarabans to pray and support the administration of Governor Kefas Agbu, for him to succeed.
Also speaking, the Commissioner of Education, Dr Augustina Yahyah Godwin, through her representative urged the Youths and Tarabans to take advantage of the Free Education policy of Dr. Agbu Kefas to ensure that they enrolled their children and wards to go school.
The Commissioner pleaded for co-operation and urged youths and Tarabans to pray for Governor Agbu Kefas and his cabinet to succeed.
Similarly, the Commissioner of Digital Economy and Innovation Hon Gideon Nonso, urged the youths to pray for them to ensure that they succeed in carrying out their responsibilities.
While on his part, the Commissioner of Waste Management and Innovation, Hon Shonzen Bernard, appreciated the UMC Youth Southern Conference for turning up in good numbers for their conference.
He inform the gathering that his doors are open to all of them and encourage the youth to respect the law.
He reiterate that as the Commissioner of Waste Management and Innovation he needs their co-operation to keep Taraba state clean.
