A political figure from Taraba State, Gilbert Gills Nyanganji, has called on residents of the state to embrace a new era of accountable leadership, declaring that while the people have endured years of hardship and neglect, the time has come to take a decisive stand for change.
In a strongly worded message to the people of Taraba, Nyanganji lamented what he described as decades of unfulfilled promises, deteriorating infrastructure, insecurity, unemployment, and inadequate opportunities that have continued to affect the lives of ordinary citizens across the state.

According to him, many communities have remained isolated due to poor road networks, while insecurity has left families living in fear. He also expressed concern over rising unemployment, particularly among young people, saying the lack of economic opportunities has compelled many of the state’s brightest minds to seek better prospects outside Taraba.
Despite these challenges, Nyanganji praised the resilience of the people, noting that they have continued to persevere through years of neglect and difficult circumstances.
“We are still standing,” he declared, adding that surviving hardship alone is no longer sufficient. “Now, we must take a stand.”
He urged residents to reject what he called the cycle of recycled leadership and politics driven solely by elections, insisting that public office holders must be held accountable for delivering tangible development.
Nyanganji argued that Taraba’s children deserve quality opportunities, farmers require greater government support, young people need meaningful employment, and communities deserve improved roads, security, healthcare, and other essential infrastructure.
Emphasising the importance of civic participation, he said history has shown that lasting transformation begins when ordinary citizens unite behind a common purpose and demand responsible governance.
The politician concluded by reaffirming his commitment to working alongside the people to build what he described as “the Taraba we deserve,” while calling on residents to support a movement centred on accountability, development, and a brighter future for Taraba State.
The message, which has gained attention on social media under the hashtags #WeStillStand, #NowWeTakeAStand, #StandUpTaraba, and #TarabaCentral, reflects growing conversations around governance, development, and citizen participation ahead of future political activities in the state.
