Wike Flagoff 10 Staff Quarters For FCT Law School, Says No Intimidation

The Federal Capital Territory Administration has Flagoff the construction of10 Staff Quarters for the Nigeria Law School in Bwari Area Council, Abuja.

On the occasion, the Minister of FCT, Mr Nyesom Wike also presented 7 Vehicles to the law school, insisting that he cannot be intimidated by critics for supporting Judiciary or the legal education.

Wike equally promised to make provision for a more befitting hostels for the Nigeria law school students in the 2025 budget of FCT.

The FCT Minister lauded President Tinubu for always granting his request for the execution of infrastructure development in the FCT, adding that without his support, he would not have been able to achieve all the feats recorded.

“I can tell you as a Minister, that am so lucky, that there is nothing I have asked, that will enable me do my work properly that Mr President has not supported. I saw something that look like hostel on my way coming,

“How can we have this as hostel where Lawyers are being trained…Therefore, we will provide both for the female and the male hostel in 2025 budget,

” If anybody is angry with us, let him wait for his turn, when you become the Minister of FCT, do for your own profession. So, I am not going to be intimidated by anybody.” Wike declared.

Responding to the request of the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister Of Justice that necessary amendment be made for the law school to form part of beneficiaries from TETFUND budget, Wike assured the law school of his necessary support, even has he advocated that the budget of the law school be reviewed upward.

Performing the Flagoff, Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi commended Nyesom Wike for his contributions to nation building and described him as a performer, achiver and a man of high taste for excellence .

According to Justice Fagbemi”Weather or not, you like him(Wike) you cannot dispute the fact that he is a performer… No matter what, he does not embark on any project he has no money to drive,

“One thing about the Nigeria Law school is, maybe because of its placement, you cannot really place the law school as a University or as an ordinary institution. I said this because, if you look at the law setting up TETFUND, the Nigeria Law School is not included.

” And I think the time has come that amendment should be made to include the Nigeria Law School as a University that can take benefits from TETFUND ” Fagbemi advocated.

Justice Fagbemi also used the medium to wealty Nigerians to come to the rescue of the Nigeria Law School campuses requiring urgent attention.

” To other Public spirited individuals who are gifted, pls come to our aid of Nigeria Law School…Your wealth is not determined by how much, or the figure you have in your bank account, but how you have been able to touch lives and public institutions. I therefore call on all and sundry to come to the aid of the Nigeria law school” Fagbemi said.

Earlier, Acting Executive Secretary FCDA, Richard Dauda while giving the overview of the project, explained that the 10 blocks of four bedroom bungalows scheduled to be completed within the next 9 months would be fully furnished upon completion.
