Stakeholders have advocated for improved governments efforts towards addressing some of the challenges associated with youths.
This has been the major focus of discussion during a sensitisation programme on Nationwide Pathway to National Cohesion and Development Challenges held at Kiyawa Local Government on Friday 4 July, 2025.

The programme which was highly attended by stakeholders such police, NSCD, DSS, Hisbah, Miyetti Allah, Youth and Women Associations, including People with Disabilities, was aimed at championing the course for a healthy, peaceful and prosperous society.
Speaking during the programme, the NOA Jigawa State Director, Ahmad Tijjani Ibrahim urged the youths to always thread the path of dialogue in expressing their grievances and discontents instead of resorting to violence which most times leads destruction of property, loss of lives, among others.
Ibrahim said that governments, at all levels are deeply concerned about the plights of the youths, noting that the various youth-fused initiatives of the government especially the upcoming National Youth Conference, are all testimonies.
On his part, the Kiyawa Local Government Chairman, Abdulhamid Balago commended NOA for such a laudable program, targeted at addressing the menace of youth youth restiveness in the society.
Represented by the Speaker of the Legislative Council, Mustapha Hafizu, the Chairman explained that drug abuse, unemployment and lack of proper parental upbringing are responsible for so many social vices experienced in country emphasizing that NOA must continuously engage and sensitize the youth to act in socially accepted manner.
Balago used to occasion to call on Fulani/ Herders to live in peace and harmony with one another.
Speaking differently, Police, DSS, Civil Defense and other stakeholders caution the Youth not to take laws into their hands, while calling on the NOA to deepen sensitization especially at rural communities.
