Founder Engages Female Candidates, Discuss Critical Issues In Jos.

President and Founder of a Human Rights Organisation known as Nigerian League of Women Voters NILOWV , Rt.Hon Dame Esther Uduehi, Phd, has arrived Jos city the capital of Plateau State, Nigeria to engage the Female Candidates of various political Parties.on Critical Issues ahead of the 2023 general elections.

She was The received at Yakubu Gowon Airport, Heipang on arrival by the NILOWV Plateau State Chapter Chairperson Hon. Lynda Barau, and Former Female Commissioners, NILOWV Executives who were beautifully dressed in their colourful attires, He4She, and other critical Women Stakeholders including partners in women development issues in the state.

Speaking to Journalists on her arrival at the airport, Uduehi expressed how passionate she is concerning women issues, that is why I am here to engage the Female Aspirants and Candidates on how to share their experiences and ideas to impact on Local communities.

According to her, “Considering Women voting numerical strength 68.8 %, women have all it takes to decide good governance in Nigeria”.

According to Rt Hon Uduehi, her visit to Plateau is to come early to hold general interaction with the women critical stakeholders, advocate for measures to boost women’s low representation of Women in Elective and appointive positions.

Recieving the Plateau August Visitor, State Chairman NILOWV Hon. Lynda Barau, described the visit as “A PROFITABLE VISIT for PLATEAU WOMEN knowing how vastly Dame UDUEHI’s connect is in regards to Women issues”.

According to Barau, “it’s a rare privilege Plateau Women wouldn’t want to miss! That is why as exco, we decided to create Special time for Candidates to have a good platform of Networking with her on general Women linkage with UN Women Desk.

Recall, NILOWV, had alleged marginalization of Women in the Nation’s political space by their male counterparts in the recent past political events.

It is anticipated that more engagements would hold to ensure that since we have missed it via representation of women contesting it can be covered up in the appointive positions.

Some of the Candidates who pleaded anonymity identified Finance, Funding and insecurity as major challenges likely to pose a threat to their emergence. They called for Women groups to support them while appreciating NILOWV and other agencies who sponsored the meeting.
