2027 Election : Betara Secures APC Return Ticket Unopposed for Biu/Bayo/Kwaya Kusar/Shani Federal Constituency

The Proactive Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Appropriations, Rt. Hon. Muktar Aliyu Betara, has secured the All Progressives Congress (APC) return ticket unopposed to contest again for the Biu/Bayo/Kwaya Kusar/Shani Federal Constituency seat.

The APC primary election, which attracted party stakeholders, delegates and supporters from across the constituency, ended with an overwhelming endorsement of the lawmaker, reflecting the confidence reposed in his leadership and representation over the years.

Betara emerged as the sole aspirant for the seat, a development political observers described as a clear indication of his growing popularity and acceptance among party members and constituents.

Delegates from the four local government areas of Biu, Bayo, Kwaya Kusar and Shani participated in the affirmation process conducted under the supervision of APC officials and electoral monitors.

Announcing the results, the Returning Officer, Dr. Amadu Umar Babaye, declared that Betara polled a total of 194 votes to clinch the party’s ticket.
According to the breakdown of the results, Shani Local Government recorded 51 valid votes, Bayo recorded 50 valid votes, Kwaya Kusar had 38 valid votes with six invalid votes, while Biu Local Government recorded 55 valid votes.

The atmosphere at the venue was filled with jubilation as supporters celebrated the victory with songs, chants and commendations for the lawmaker’s contributions to infrastructural development, educational support programmes, youth empowerment and humanitarian interventions across the constituency.

Many party faithful described Betara as a grassroots politician whose representation has continued to attract meaningful projects and opportunities to the people of the area.
Speaking after his emergence, Betara expressed appreciation to party leaders, delegates and constituents for the trust and support given to him.

He assured the people of his continued commitment to quality representation, inclusive leadership and sustained development across the constituency.
