The Kano State Governor, Engr Abba Kabir Yusuf, has unveiled the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential and Gubernatorial Campaign Council for the 2027 general elections, charging members to work diligently towards securing victory for the party at all levels.
The inauguration ceremony took place on Thursday at the Coronation Hall, Government House, Kano.
Governor Yusuf said the appointments were based on merit, competence, trust and confidence in the ability of members to deliver on the responsibilities entrusted to them.
He urged the council to demonstrate commitment, sincerity and effective coordination in pursuing the party’s electoral objectives, stressing the need for sustained efforts towards winning the presidential, gubernatorial and other elective positions in the 2027 elections.
The Governor also called for issue-based campaigns, urging members to focus on communicating the party’s programmes, policies and achievements while engaging voters constructively on matters of public concern.
He emphasised that the campaign should be driven by clear policy messages and a compelling vision that would strengthen public confidence in the party ahead of the elections.
In his remarks, the Director-General of the council, Engineer Abdullahi Tijjani Muhammad Gwarzo, assured the Governor that members would work collectively and explore every legitimate opportunity to achieve the party’s electoral objectives.
Engineer Gwarzo, a former Deputy Governor of Kano State and former Minister of State for Housing, expressed appreciation to Governor Yusuf for the confidence reposed in the council, pledging that members would justify the appointment through dedication, effective coordination and diligent execution of their mandate.
The council is headed by Engineer Abdullahi Tijjani Muhammad Gwarzo as Director-General, while the Director-General, Media and Publicity, Kano Government House, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, serves as Secretary.
The council is structured into various sub-directorates to ensure effective coordination, strategic mobilisation and efficient implementation of campaign activities ahead of the 2027 general elections.
